CHARLOTTE, MI (WTVB) – In basketball, the Coldwater Lady Cardinals bounced back from their loss to Marshall Friday with a 59-20 thumping of Charlotte Monday night. The Cardinals improved to 3-1 as they led 24-4 after the first quarter and 40-12 at the half. The Cardinal lead was so big, a running clock was used in the second half.
McDonald’s Player of the Game Olivia Foley led Coldwater with 15 points as she hit five triples in the first half. Carlee Crabtree added 11 points thanks to three triples while Tyler Scheid had eight points.
The JV Lady Cards fell to Charlotte 42-22 as they dropped to 1-3. Kelsi Herlan led Coldwater with 11 points, three rebounds and five steals. Jayda Kelly had five rebounds and four steals while Bailey Burkhardt added five steals.
