COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two suspects are in custody following an investigating into credit card fraud at a Calhoun County truck stop.
Two men from Redford, Michigan were arrested Sunday morning at the Love’s Truck Stop near Marshall after the alleged credit card fraud took place at the 115 Truck Stop in Marengo Township.
When Marshall Police arrived at Love’s, one of the suspects went inside a restroom and tried to flush cloned credit cards down the toilet.
Deputies recovered thousands of dollars’ worth of alcohol, cigarettes and clothing that had been purchased in Northern Indiana and Lower Michigan.
Besides the two men arrested, a woman was detained and later released pending further investigation.
One of the suspects tried to kick out the rear window to the patrol car and damaged a door trying to escape.
The suspect was restrained after punching and kicking several officers. Both suspects were lodged at the Calhoun County Jail. Deputies were assisted by Marshall Police and the Michigan State Police.
