COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County’s fourth annual Shop with a Cop event will be held this Thursday in Coldwater.
The Branch County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police Troopers, Coldwater firefighters, local officers and officers from the Michigan Department of Corrections will be taking part.
A total of 26 children from the Branch County Coalition Against Domestic Violence Shelter House will have dinner with the police and firefighters at the MasonicTemple in Coldwater at 5:00 p.m.
They will then be paired up with a Branch County police officer or firefighter to shop for presents for their parents, siblings, Toys for Tots and themselves.
There will be a procession starting on the west side of Coldwater to the Coldwater Wal-Mart where gift cards will be presented to the children and officers.
The Shop with a Cop program is made possible with private donations and a golf outing put on by the Lakeland Correctional Facility this summer.
