DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Detroit Tigers made a statement in their home series opener Monday night, crushing the San Diego Padres 12-4 at Comerica Park.
Jeimer Candelario homered twice and Eric Haase broke the game open with a grand slam in the third inning.
Will Vest got the win in relief for the Tigers, who improved to 39-and-58.
Detroit sends right-hander Garrett Hill to the mound tonight at the Tigers continue this three game series with the Padres. The opening pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
