QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – In girls high school basketball, Quincy dropped to 0-2 as they were beaten by Camden-Frontier 52-42 in a non-conference game. The Orioles were outscored 12-5 in the second quarter as they fell behind 19-11 at halftime. Camden-Frontier extended their lead to 36-24 after three quarters.
Hannah Economou led the Orioles with 12 points and 12 rebounds while Payton Hines added 10 points.

Coldwater scored a pair of victories at the Vicksburg Super Dual Meet. The Cardinals defeated Three Rivers 68-10 and Portage Central 66-10. Going 2-0 were Zeke Nowicki-103 lbs, Shihab Abdulrub-112 lbs, Hamza Muflihi-119 lbs, Carter Hoard-135 lbs, Matt Gipple-152 lbs, Griffen Olmstead-160 lbs, Zach Miller-171 lbs, Sam DeMeester-189 lbs, and Clark Cole-285 lbs.
Coldwater wrestles next at Brooklyn Columbia Central this Saturday.
Bronson opened their season with a pair of victories as they defeated Homer 58-22 and Jonesville 53-16. Pinfall winners for the Vikings against Homer were Ben Modert, Alexia Minnick, Eion DePaz, Jac Murphy, Issac Robertson, Cole Houtz, Chase Gibson and Nathan Caudill. Scoring pins for the Vikings against Jonesville were Connor Vargo, Issac Tappenden along with Robertson, Houtz, Gibson and Caudill.
Quincy also opened their season with a pair of wins as they defeated Stockbridge 48-18 and Vandercook Lake 45-30.
Union City opened their season with a 41-36 victory over Kalamazoo Loy Norrix.
—MIDDLE SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL—
The Legg Middle School 8th grade teams split with Jackson Catholic. The A team won 47-34 to move to 5-5 on the year. Spencer Rodesiler led Legg with 12 points while Cayrin Thompson added 10 points. The B team lost 31-28. Zakariya Saeed led Legg with 13 points.
Both of the 7th grade teams defeated Jackson Catholic. The A team is 9-3 after they won 61-48. Four players finished in double figures. Gage McNew had 14 points while Brandon Downs had 12 points, Ethan Crabtree had 11 points and Brock Thorton had 10 points. The B team won 53-25 as they improved to 12-0. Jett Galloway had 12 points while Owen Tom grabbed 13 rebounds.
Bronson’s 8th grade boys basketball team lost to Sturgis 44-35. Blaine Robinson and Connor Covey both scored nine points for Bronson. The Vikings will host Edwardsburg on Thursday.
