John Thomas Russell, 77, of Bronson, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at his home in Bronson surrounded by his loving family.
In accordance to his wishes cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held June 1, 2023 at the Russell Family Farm.
The family is being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
He was born June 1, 1945 to Thomas and Madalin (Shae) Russell in Toledo, OH. John proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. On February 23, 1972 he married Diana DesCamps in Toledo, OH and she survives.
After his service in the Army, John led a career as a mill wright with B.F. Goodrich until his retirement. He had achieved the rank of Master Mason and had been a member of the Mystic 0141 Northern Masonic Lodge in Grand Rapids.
John was a hardworking and dedicated man but he also made sure to find the joys in life; he loved the outdoors whether it was hunting, fishing, or just the daily upkeep of the longtime family farm. John also held an interest for Hamm radio but above all, his greatest passion was his family.
In addition to his wife Diana, John leaves behind his children Edward Russell of South Bend, IN, Andria (Chad Tonkel) Russell-Cupp of Camden, Amanda (Chad) Russell-Goetz of Bronson; his 11 grandchildren Elizabeth Russell, Logan (Emily) Russell, Abigail Russell, Madilyn Russell, Payton Cupp, Colin Cupp, Makayla Phillips, Jacob Stienbarger, Lillian Goetz, Chad Goetz, Kyleigh Goetz; 7 great grandchildren and his favorite dog Sweet.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
