COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Light snow began in the early morning hours Thursday, ahead of the first predicted snowstorm of the season for Branch County.
The hours of a Winter Weather Advisory for Branch and surrounding counties have been extended while Winter Storm Warnings are in effect for St. Joseph and Kalamazoo Counties. The advisory for Branch, Calhoun and Steuben Counties is now in effect from 10:00 a.m. Thursday morning until 4:00 p.m. Friday afternoon.
Lake effect snow showers along with drifting snow is expected. Total accumulations by late Friday are expected to be between three and six inches.
Meanwhile, St. Joseph and Kalamazoo Counties are both under a Winter Storm Warning. Forecasters say St. Joseph County could get five to eight inches of snow while Kalamazoo County is expected to get up to 10 inches of snow.
