COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The date that will live in infamy happened 75 years ago Wednesday.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Coldwater American Legion Post #52 Drill Team held a special ceremony at the Gathering of Flags Memorial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Drill Team member Jerry Ford spoke about the sacrifices given by local members of the military.
One of the names on the memorial belongs to Paul Daniel Keller of Coldwater who died in the attack on the USS Arizona.
Flags were lowered to half staff and a wreath will be laid at the World War II Memorial, with Taps played at 7:48 a.m. to mark the start time of the attack on the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor which drew the U.S. into the war.
