CAMDEN TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A Camden man was injured and had to be flown from the scene of an accident which took place Monday afternoon after he apparently fell asleep at the wheel.
The Hillsdale County Sheriff’s Department says 25-year-old Jeremy Martin Beerer was injured in the accident which took place at about 2:30 p.m. on West Territorial Road near Grange Road.
Deputies say Beerer was heading west on Territorial Road when his vehicle ran off the road, went into a ditch and struck a tree. Beerer told deputies he was on his way to work when he fell asleep.
The Sheriff’s Department says he was not wearing his seatbelt.
Poice were assisted by the Camden and Montgomery Fire Departments, the Reading Emergency Unit and Hillsdale Towing. The accident remains under investigation.
