COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – To mark the 75th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, which President Franklin Roosevelt declared “A Date Which Will Live in Infamy”, the Coldwater American Legion Post #52 Drill Team will hold a special ceremony Wednesday morning.
According to Drill Team member Jerry Ford, the ceremony will be held at the Gathering of Flags Memorial in Oak Grove Cemetery on Coldwater’s east side. Flags will be lowered to half staff and a wreath will be laid at the World War II memorial, with Taps played at 7:48 a.m. to mark the start time of the attack on the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, which drew the U.S. into the war.
The public is invited to attend.
