BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – With the City of Bronson needing to bond for wastewater and possibly water projects, the Bronson City Council on Monday night approved a request to use Miller Canfield as the bond counsel in order for the City to proceed.
Miller Canfield was one of two firms recommended with the other being Dickinson Wright. The fees for each firm were very similar.
City Manager Brandon Mersman said Miller Canfield was the City’s bond counsel in 1993 for the wastewater treatment plant upgrade bonds and he suggested using them again.
In addition, the Council approved Municipal Financial Consultants to serve as the financial advisor to guide the City through this process and to work closely with the City’s bond counsel.
Mersman said this was another situation where the City’s engineer recommended working with someone the City feels most comfortable with as the pricing was also very similar.
