CONSTANTINE TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Two people were injured, one critically in a single-vehicle crash in St. Joseph County on Wednesday, August 17.
Deputies from the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department responded to the area of North River Road near Winding River Road in Constantine Township around 5:15 p.m.
Authorities say a 23-year-old female driver from San Jose CA and a 25-year-old female passenger from Grand Rapids MI were eastbound on North River Road when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, over corrected, which caused the vehicle to lose control.
The vehicle then slid sideways across the road and hit a tree on the passenger’s side. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to Bronson Hospital by Three Rivers Ambulance.
The passenger sustained major traumatic injuries and was flown by Beacon Memorial Medflight to Bronson Hospital where she was listed in critical condition. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
