ASHLEY, IN (WTVB) – Slick roads on Saturday night apparently led to a fatal crash on I-69 in southern Steuben County.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says a woman from Auburn, Indiana was killed when her southbound car was struck at about 10:50 p.m. by a pickup truck which had been traveling north but lost control on an ice covered bridge, struck a guardrail, crossed the median and hit the woman’s car.
The driver of the pickup, 26-year-old Roman Leon of Angola, was flown to Parkview Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
The Sheriff’s Department says 22-year-old Alyssa Bizefski was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is still under investigation.
