BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – After earlier in the day announcing that four students had tested positive for Covid-19, the Bronson Community Schools district in Branch County announced late Tuesday that they will be closed Wednesday, September 23 through Friday, September 25.
School officials say the closing is out of “an abundance of caution,” and will allow them to deep clean and sanitize all buildings, as well as continue to process of contact tracing for those students and households affected.
For those who order meal packs, the district will be offering three day meal bags Wednesday, September 23. Pick up will be at Bronson Jr/Sr High door #6, between 12 noon and 1:00 p.m.
According to a post on the district’s Facebook page earlier Tuesday, the students who have tested positive and those within close contact, which is defined as someone who has been within six feet for 15 minutes or more, will need to be quarantined for 14 days under the guidance of the Branch-St Joseph-Hillsdale Community Health Agency.
Bronson school officials also say that due to privacy issues, they are unable to disclose any identifying information about the students.
