LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – Michigan Court of Claims Judge Elizabeth Gleicher has ruled the state’s 1931 abortion ban is unconstitutional as it violates a pregnant woman’s rights to bodily integrity and equal protection under Michigan’s constitution.
Gleicher adds the ban endangers the health and lives of women who want to seek an abortion.
She says the ruling issued Wednesday applies to all county prosecutors, contradicting a Court of Appeals decision that says they can enforce the ban.
