COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – When Branch County voters go to the polls on Tuesday, there will be no county races to decide. The county ballot will be filled with Republicans who are running unopposed.
Terri Norris, Leonard Kolcz, Don Vrablic, Ted Gordon and Randal Hazelbaker have no opposition for their Branch County Board of Commissioners seats. Vrablic and Hazelbaker are incumbents while Norris, Kolcz and Gordon won primaries in August.
Also running unopposed on Tuesday are Prosecutor Ralph Kimble, Sheriff John Pollack, County Clerk Terry Kubasiak, Treasurer Ann Vrablic, Register of Deeds Nancy Hutchins and Drain Commissioner Michael Hard.
There are contested races for Village Trustee seats in Quincy and Union City.
Running for four year terms on the Village Council in Quincy are Marc Brand, Michael Hagaman, Rebecca Jo Horn, John Morrell, Lynn Paul and Larry Salyer. The top three vote getters will be elected.
The Union City Village Council will have five candidates vying for three four year seats. They are James Hurley, Jerry Jackowiak, Lori Miller, Steve Searls, Everett VanWormer. Running for a term that will expire in November 2018 are Wanda Dilbert-Yoder and Randy Timperley.
There are contested school board races in Coldwater, Bronson, Quincy and Union City. Two six year seats are up for grabs in all of the districts.
The Bronson School Board candidates are Janet Byler, Brian Eley and Jennifer Harmon.
Running for the two seats on the Coldwater are Nick Krzeminski, Ronald Lanford and Steve Rutz.
The Quincy School Board candidates are Thomas Bean, Tim Miner and Jennifer Wortz.
Candidates for the Union City School Board are Thomas Case, Sam Korn and Jennifer Searls.
