LANSING, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Michigan Department of Transportation is reminding motorists that roadwork will continue as the fall season gets underway in Michigan with numerous road and bridge projects which will last through November.
In addition, motorists may notice new work zones appearing as crews perform necessary maintenance before winter weather sets in.
MDOT is asking all road users to remain alert and focused as they travel through these work zones as fall road construction can be especially challenging due to changes in weather, fewer daylight hours, a return to busier travel patterns, and construction fatigue.
MDOT also recommends being prepared for road and bridge work by regularly checking the Mi Drive website at www.Michigan.gov/Drive.
In addition to showing current and upcoming work happening on I, M and US routes, the website also shows current traffic incidents that may cause delays as well.
