COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Five suspects including four from Coldwater were arraigned on Thursday in Branch County District Court on various drug related charges following a Coldwater Police Department investigation into alleged heroin and methamphetamine activity.
28-year-old Lauren Deright Murdock, 30-year-old Jonathan William Elkins, 38-year-old James Scott Royer and 32-year-old Heather Marie Royer were all booked for maintaining a drug house on South Polk Street.
In addition, Elkins was arrested possession of heroin and delivering or manufacturing methamphetamine, James Royer is also facing a charge for possession of meth while Murdock was booked for possession of heroin and methamphetamine.
A fifth suspect, 25-year-old Cody Edmonds of Burlington, has also been charged with delivering heroin and meth. He was already in jail for violating his probation.
Coldwater Police were assisted by the Michigan State Police and the Branch County Sheriff’s Department.
All of the suspects were lodged Friday in the Branch County Jail. Bonds for all of them range from $25,000 to $100,000.
Probable cause hearings have been scheduled for next Thursday while preliminary exams are set for November 10th in Branch County District Court.
