HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – In girls volleyball Wednesday, the Coldwater Lady Cardinals won 3-0 at Hastings (25-19, 25-16, 25-12) in their final Interstate 8 match of the season. The Cards are now 35-6-6 and are 6-1 in the conference.
They play this Saturday in the I-8 Conference Tournament that will be hosted by Battle Creek Pennfield.
Individual Stats:
Jasmine Wellet led in kills with 8, had 3 aces, and 6 digs
Jamie Wellet had 6 kills, led with 5 aces, led in assists with 13, and led in digs with 11
Olivia Foley had 10 assists and 3 kills
Tyler Scheid led in blocks with 3, had 6 digs, and added 3 kills
Sam Rodesiler had 9 digs
Drue Mullin had 4 kills
Coldwater won both of the underclassman matches by 2-0 scores. The J.V.’s won 25-13, 25-19. Carlee Crabtree had six kills, four digs and three blocks, Emilee Smoker had four assists, five kills and six digs, Anna Tappenden had five assists, six kills and seven digs while Mya Tom and Hailey Steel both had five digs.
The Coldwater freshmen won 25-19, 26-24 as they rallied from a 12 point deficit in the second game. Bailey Burkhardt had five kills, two blocks and two aces, Jasmine Coppess had four kills, four assists and four digs, Taylor Wilber had three aces, four assists and two digs while Linzy Monks had three aces. The freshmen finished their season with a record of 23-12-6.

Bronson got two wins on Wednesday night as they defeated Bridgman (25-14, 25-18, 25-11) and Sturgis (25-12, 25-6, 25-18).

This was the 2nd win of the season for Coldwater. The Lady Cards won 11 out of the 12 events. Two team records were also broken at Charlotte. Kory Ulrich broke the 500 Freestyle record and Dannica Alling broke the last record from last year breaking the 1 Meter 6 Dive record.
