COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The third edition of Hoptoberfest on South Monroe Street in downtown Coldwater will be held on a Friday night this year.
The event which pays tribute to Coldwater’s German heritage with sister city Soltau, Germany is set for next Friday, September 30 from 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m.
Hoptoberfest is for ages 21 and older and will feature Oktoberfest beers from a variety of Michigan craft breweries.
The breweries will include Two Bandits Brewing Company, Upper Hand Brewery, Atwater Brewery, Bell’s Brewery and Grand Armory Brewery.
Attendees will also be able to take advantage of Coldwater’s Social District.
In a salute to the sister city, German fare will be served by Lazy Man BBQ.
EZ Eats will be serving pretzels, desserts will be provided by local bakery Tya’s Tasty Treats and popcorn will be provided by Schultz Popcorn.
In addition, the Misty Blues Band out of West Bloomfield will be performing German music throughout the night.
The cost to get into Hoptoberfest is $5 and there is no rain date scheduled should the event be canceled due to inclement weather.
Hoptoberfest serves as an encore to the weekly Hops on Monroe. Coldwater Board of Public Utilities will be the sponsor for this year’s event.
