COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – A new four-year labor agreement between the city of Coldwater and the Police Officers Labor Council, Coldwater Police Division – Command was unanimously approved by the Coldwater City Council Monday night. Police sergeants, detective-sergeants, and lieutenants are covered under this agreement, which includes a 2% wage increase and a 1% defined contribution increase for each year of the agreement and a $1,000 signing bonus.
Meanwhile, the Coldwater Fire Department will soon be getting new trucks to replace equipment that’s over 25 years old. The custom-built $540,000 pumper and $1.2 million ladder truck, or Aerialscope, will be completed within 8 months and a year, respectively, of the signing of the purchase agreement.
