Starr L. Mowrey, Jr., age 77, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services for Starr Mowrey will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Mark Case officiating.
The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday from 12:000 p.m. until the time of service. Cremation will take place after the service.
He was born October 21, 1944, in Coldwater to Starr “Bucket” and Edna (Luse) Mowrey. He married Cindy Forsyth, and she survives.
Starr graduated from Coldwater High School. He was a long-time barber and owned the Plaza Barber Shop in Coldwater. He enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren at everything they did. He loved golfing, boating and taking trips to the casino. Starr served his country in the US Army.
Surviving besides his wife, are his children, Nathaniel (Erika) Mowrey and Natalie (Jonathan) Brodmann; step-daughter, Michelle (Michael) Gowing and step-son Bryan Wible; grandchildren, Jacob and Alexa Mowrey, Lillian Brodmann, Espen, Ellie and Elyse Gowing, and Brydan and Brooklyn Wible; sister, Reah McLatcher; former wife, Nancy (Steve) Weinhold; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne Mowrey; and brother-in-law, Theodore McLatcher.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Humane Society of Branch County or the Quincy Athletic Boosters.
