Nora was born August 26, 1939, to Howard I. Rosenberry and Maryann A. (Coats) Rosenberry in Battle Creek, MI. She married the love of her life Dean E. Davis on May 11, 1958 in Girard. He preceded her in death March 6, 2016.
Nora had a great love of music, playing the piano and singing. In her youth, she recorded records and sang at many local events. She was often heard singing at home while gardening and doing her household chores. Nora was a German exchange student, traveling to many European countries during her stay, finding Denmark to be her favorite.
She attended Wright’s Beauty Academy in Battle Creek and became a licensed cosmetologist. She enjoyed doing hair for family, friends, and neighbors.
Mrs. Davis was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker who loved to serve her community and was essential to the family farm. She volunteered at the Bronson Food Pantry, played an active role at Pleasant Hill Missionary Church, Bronson Child Study Club and her favorite group, “Flower Talk.”
Nora helped lead the Cransonettes & Jets 4-H Club. She taught sewing, gardening, foods, and photography, among other projects, for over 53 years. She served as the Branch County Fair Photography Superintendent and in 2021, she was awarded the Michigan 50 Years 4-H Volunteer Award.
Nora loved gardening and making gifts with her hands and heart. When her children saw something in the store, they were often told, “We can make that!” Growing up at the family Hodunk Roller Mills, she did just that, making beautiful clothing out of printed feed bags.
Nora led a faith filled, selfless life. She was a kind, caring, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to many.
