BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – Another long time Branch County Fire Chief is retiring.
Brent Wilber said during the Bronson Fire Department’s annual banquet on Saturday night that he will be retiring after being the department’s Chief for almost two decades and after being a firefighter for 37 years.
Bronson Area Fire Association Board President Dennis Schumacher says Wilber’s son Scott is in line to succeed his father as Chief.
Brent Wilber has been talking about retiring in recent months and Schumacher denies rumors that he is being forced out.
Wilber also runs White Star Auction in Bronson.
Kurt Barve announced in June he will be retiring as Quincy Fire Department Chief after 15 years of service March 1, 2017.
