STEUBEN COUNTY, IN (WTVB) – An alleged motorcycle thief got more than he bargained for over the weekend in Steuben County when a relative of the victim chased down the suspect.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says they were called Saturday morning to a home on 350 North following a burglary. They were told a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle had just been taken from a garage and was last known to be heading east.
A short time later, a family member of the property owner where the burglary took place saw the motorcycle traveling on a nearby road. The motorcycle was forced to stop by the relative and a man on the motorcycle fled into a large cornfield and wooded area.
After a search by Deputies, the suspect was found walking on 800 West near Orland. He was identified as 20 year old Thomas P. Crago, Junior of Syracuse, Indiana.
Crago was arrested and booked into the Steuben County Jail. Steuben County authorities are still investigating the incident. Angola City Police assisted in the incident.
