UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – Funeral services will be held on Saturday for a Branch County woman who was murdered this summer.
42-year-old Heather Chantele Young of the Sherwood/Athens area, and formerly of Coldwater and Bronson, was killed July 30,2016 in or near Onaway.
A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church in Union City. Interment will follow at Pretty Prairie Cemetery in Sturgis.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation of Union City.
55-year-old Brenton Walker is facing four charges including first degree murder in Presque Isle County in connection with Young’s death.
The Alpena News reports Walker’s case has been bound over to Circuit Court after he waived his right to a District Court preliminary exam on October 4.
