BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on Wednesday, October 5 that 51 “Build to Scale” grants totaling $47 million are on their way to organizations that support technology entrepreneurs, catalyze innovation and fuel economic growth.
One Michigan company in Battle Creek is getting two of those grants adding up to more than $500,000.
The company, Battle Creek Unlimited is receiving a $375,000 grant under the 2022 Venture Challenge for their project, Future Food Accelerator. And the other grant of just over $147,000 under the Capital Challenge, will go to the company for their project, Food and Beverage Investors Network.
The 2022 awardees will leverage an additional $48 million in matching funds from a variety of private and public sector sources.
