COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Animal Aid of Branch County has received a $1,000 Emergency Medical grant from the Petfinder Foundation.
The grant helps Petfinder members who are caring for a pet that needs special life-saving veterinary care in order to become adoptable.
A.A.B.C. recently rescued 4 puppies and an adult dog who were discarded from a car on a Hillsdale County road.
They had a number of medical issues which required veterinary assistance.
One of the puppies named Keely had an old untreated rotting injury to her front foot which required the amputation of that leg to save her life.
Keely is doing well and has been adopted by a special education teacher who eventually wants to use her in her classroom to encourage physically handicapped children.
Keely’s siblings have all been adopted into new loving homes as was Alena the adult dog discarded with them.
