LEROY TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – An 89-year-old man drowned in Sonoma Lake after the Michigan State Police say his boat sank Monday afternoon.
The body of Theron Stults was found by the Calhoun County Area Law Enforcement Underwater Recovery Team after police were called to the lake at around 4:00pm.
Witnesses called authorities after spotting floating debris in the same area where they had seen a boat 15 minutes earlier. It’s not known yet why the boat sunk.
