COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After almost three years of work, the final draft of the Branch County Master Plan was formally approved by the Branch County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday.
The Branch County Planning Commission voted to pass the final draft last month after a public hearing was conducted and suggested changes were discussed.
The Planning Commission along with the Southcentral Michigan Planning Council have worked on the Master Plan since funding for updating it was approved by the Board of Commissioners in December of 2019.
It was updated thanks in part to the controversy that came up several years ago of proposed wind turbines in the northwestern part of the county.
It was also felt an updated Master Plan would benefit development and help communities with grant funding.
