COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater boys varsity soccer team stayed undefeated in the Interstate 8 Conference Tuesday night with a 3-0 win at Jackson Lumen Christi. The win improved the Cardinals to 5-0 in the conference and 13-1-1 overall, as they recorded their 8th straight shutout.
Mana Ahmed and Jonathon Brownell each had one goal and one assist in the win, with the other goal coming from Mohamed Nagi, assisted by Anas Asker. Balal Nasser made 4 saves in goal for his 11th shutout of the season.
The Coldwater varsity will host Harper Creek for Senior Night Thursday. The JV squad will host Fennville that night.

The Coldwater 8th grade A team defeated Marshall 2-1 (18-25, 25-23 17-15.) Veronica Gonzalez lead the team on the serving line with 8 points one ace; Meg Smith 6 points 3 aces; Amber Sunderland 5 points; Victoria Gonzalez 5 points one ace. Abby Herman and Mia Rzepka both had 5 digs. Laynee Paarlberg, Amber Sunderland, Jenna Julien, Veronica Gonzalez and Meg Smith each with 3 digs. Kaia and Abby each with 2 kills. Jenna Julien and Kaia Donay each with one block.
The 8th grade B volleyball team also won 2-0 (25-16, 25-15). The team did an outstanding job at the service line scoring a total of 20 aces. Lissbet Ramos served 8 points to help in game one win. Marissa Cox, Teighlor Beatty, and Molly Lewis worked hard on the court to help the Cardinals secure their victory.
The Coldwater 7th grade A volleyball team is 10-1 after they defeated Marshall 2-1 (21-25 25-23 15-12)

The Coldwater 7th grade B volleyball team defeated Marshall by scores of 25-16, 25-9, 11-15. Serving leaders were McKenzie Brezovacki, JadaZay Ledbetter, and Allie Welch. Their record is 4-4-2.
—CROSS COUNTRY—
Quincy’s girls and Concord’s boys were the winners in the first Big 8 Jamboree of the season which was hosted by Union City at Turtle Creek Golf Club on Tuesday. Only five points separated the top three teams in the girls meet. The Orioles had five runners finish in the top 20 as they won with 61 points followed by Concord with 64 and Reading with 66. Union City was seventh. Gabby Porter was the top finisher for Quincy as she was fourth. Meri Michael was seventh, Haley Bean was 14th, Makenzie Blatter was 16th and Madde Horn was 20th. Marika Endo was the top finisher for Union City as she was 18th.
Quincy finished third in the boys race behind Concord and Jonesville. Union City was seventh. Quincy’s Nathan Nohr was fourth while Ian Trail was 15th and Bryce Bassage was 19th. Chase Hurley was 14th for Union City while Cameron Turley was 26th.
—GIRLS GOLF—
Coldwater finished sixth out of ten teams at the Sturgis Invitational. St. Joe won the event with a 352 while Coldwater carded a 414. Coldwater was led by Claire Sheppard who finished in a tie for 7th place overall with a round of 93. Jayla Goodwin shot a 100, Gabriel Boston had a 107, Hunter Jenkot carded a 114 and Micki Slack rounded out Coldwater’s scoring on the Island Hills Golf Course with a round of 118.
Coldwater will be playing in the I – 8 Championship on Thursday at the Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek.
