BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – After a price spike several weeks ago, gas prices throughout Branch County have dropped back to below $4 a gallon.
The web site www.gasbuddy.com says a gallon of regular no lead on Monday morning in Branch County was selling for between $3.74 and $3.99.
Gas prices jump to as high as $4.49 a gallon around Branch County in early October.
Gas Buddy’s Patrick DeHaan says, “For the third consecutive week, we’ve seen the national average price of gasoline decline. The national average is closing in on the previous low from September, which was interrupted when refinery issues caused prices to skyrocket in the West and Great Lakes.”
Triple-A Michigan says the average price of gas in the state has gone down by nine cents in the last week to $3.96 a gallon.
The survey found that Jackson had the highest average price in the state at $4.12.
