COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – An Indiana woman who got into legal trouble for the first time in her life this summer told Branch County Circuit Court Judge Bill O’Grady on Monday that methamphetamine is the worst drug you can do. Maggie Elizabeth Giffin was one of four people arrested in June after local law enforcement authorities say they found an active meth lab in a van.
Giffin was given a six month suspended sentence and was placed on probation for one year during a sentencing hearing after she entered a guilty plea to a charge of possession of meth. Four other counts were dropped by prosecutors in exchange for her guilty plea.
Giffin was also given credit for 24 days served. She added she feels a lot better now and Giffin said she never wants to go to jail.
28-year-old Kasey Giffin of Fremont, 22-year-old Felicia Giffin of Angola and 30-year-old Ryan Workman of Keystone were also charged in connection with the case.
