COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – After years of discussion and planning, work will begin Monday on the new grandstands at the Branch County Fairgrounds.
Branch County Fair Director Jan Murphy says it will be 28 rows high once the work is done.
Murphy says the construction will be done in two phases. The first phase should be done by the end of the year.
There will be no roof but Murphy says the new grandstand will be handicap accessible.
Funds still have to be raised for the second phase of the construction. The total cost will be about a half million dollars.
If things work out, a permanent stage could be built as well sometime in the future.
