COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – As part of International Literacy Day last week, Altrusa International of Branch County presented a $1,500 check to the Literacy Council of Branch County.
The money will be used to supply training and materials for volunteer tutors.
The 50th anniversary of International Literacy Day as proclaimed by the United Nationas was celebrated on September 8, 2016.
Its aim is to highlight the importance of literacy to individuals, communities and societies.
