BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Attorney General Dana Nessel and Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson were re-elected on Tuesday but they were beaten soundly in the Branch County balloting.
Republican challenger Tudor Dixon defeated Whitmer 10.131 to 5,674.
Benson lost in Branch County to Republican challenger Kristina Karamo 9,751 to 5,814
Republican Matthew DePerno defeated Attorney General Dana Nessel 10,147 to 5,323.
A majority of Branch County voters were against Proposal Three which enshrined abortion rights into the state constitution. Prop 3 was rejected in Branch County on a vote of 9.350 to 6,550.
Meanwhile, Proposal One passed in Branch County 8,627 to 6,870 while Proposal Two was defeated 8,462 to 7,241.
