DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The New York Rangers exploded in the third period and crushed the Red Wings 8-2 in Detroit last night.
The game was tied 2-2 heading into the final period until the Rangers tagged the Wings for six goals. Adam Fox had a four-point night after scoring a goal with three assists while Barclay Goodrow netted a goal with two helpers.
Mika Zibanejad celebrated his 700th career game with two goals. The Rangers improved to 7-5-and-3 with the victory, which snapped a three-game skid.
Lucas Raymond and Joseph Veleno scored goals for the Red Wings, who fell to 7-4-and-3.
The Red Wings begin a four-game road trip tomorrow in Los Angeles against the Kings.
