WHITE PIGEON, MI (WTVB) – Michigan State Police say they are looking for the driver of a light colored pickup truck which was involved in a hit and run accident in St. Joseph County on Friday afternoon.
Troopers say the pick up was pulling a trailer loaded with wood north on U.S. 131 near Garber Road when a tire detached or fell from the trailer and rolled into the path of southbound traffic.
The tire was struck by another southbound pick up which caused extensive damage.
The driver of the northbound vehicle left the scene or was unaware of the detached tire and did not stop.
