Coldwater swept the singles matches while the 4th doubles team of Jake Matevia and Blake Yates extended their winning streak to 6 matches. Their 6-4, 6-3 victory earned the Cardinals the deciding point in the match.Austin Butler (12-0) and Porter Skimore (10-0) stayed undefeated on the year.

The Legg Middle School squads competed at the Colon Invitational as all of the grades ran one-and-a-half miles. The 6th grade girls were fourth while the 7th grade boys took fourth, the 7th grade girls were third and the eighth grade boys were third. Coldwater’s Cameron Linton won the 8th grade boys race.
Tonight in high school sports, in a game we’ll broadcast live on AM 1590 and FM 95.5, as well as on wtvbam.com, the Cardinals look to bounce back after last weeks disappointing home loss to Marshall. Coldwater beat Pennfield last year 35-8 but the Panthers are 2-0 and have scored 77 points in their first two games. They are coming off a 48-34 win at Parma Western.

The Orioles try to stay unbeaten tonight as they will face Athens for the final time as a Big 8 Conference foe. Quincy scored a thrilling 42-40 overtime win over Jonesville last week.

Two high powered offenses hook up in Jackson County as the Chargers will also try to stay unbeaten. Union City has scored 76 points in their first two games while the Spartans have put 88 points up on the board.

The Vikings are hoping to turn things around offensively after they have been held to eight points in the first two games.
