BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – A celebration that was 150 years in the making will take place this weekend in Bronson.
Bronson’s Sesquicentennial will be celebrated with a Farmer’s Market, a car show, Civil War Re-Enactors, live music, fireworks, a parade and a community supper.
June Wilber will be the Grand Marshall for the Sesquicentennial Parade on Sunday afternoon which starts at 1:30pm.
The Memorial Service which will honor Vietnam veterans and the remember the victims of 9-11 will be held in the St. Mary’s Gymnasium on Sunday afternoon will start at 3:30pm. The Community Supper that is being provided by Bronson area churches follows at 4:30pm.
Bronson was first named York but the name was changed by the state legislature in 1837. Incorporation of the village took place in 1866 and Bronson became a city in 1934.
