CONSTANTINE, MI (WTVB) – A 33-year-old man from Muskegon was arrested on Wednesday in St. Joseph County after the Michigan State Police say he had been making threats against law enforcement.
State Police say the man had been making suicide threats before he got into an accident at about 2:40pm on Centreville-Constantine Road near Constantine Road.
The man ran from the accident with a handgun. Troopers set up a perimeter around the area and called in additional State Police resources.
A man then came out of some woods and started walking towards patrol cars.
He was ordered to the ground before being arrested without further incident.
The unidentified man was taken to a hospital for treatment and a mental health evaluation. Charges will be sought.
