BATTLE CREEK, MI (WTVB) – The Athens Indians advanced to the M.H.S.A.A. Division Four girls volleyball finals on Thursday afternoon at Kellogg Arena with a three games to nothing victory over Lansing Christian. The game scores were 25-18, 25-20, 25-23 as the Indians improved to 33-12-2. Alaina Brubaker had 29 assists for Athens while Kamryn Parlin and Brubaker both had 14 digs. Parlin also had three blocks. Kylie Quist led Athens in kills with 11. Piper Porter had three aces.
The Indians will face Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart in Saturday morning’s state championship starting at 10:00 a.m.. Sacred Heart advanced with three games to nothing win over Crystal Falls Forest Park.
