COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County got a fair amount of lake effect snow but nothing like what was reported along with the U.S. 131 corridor between Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids between last Wednesday and Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service office in Grand Rapids says the snow measured about four inches near Coldwater with parts of northern Branch County getting almost six inches of snow.
Further north, almost a foot of snow fell in the Battle Creek area which led city officials to declare a snow emergency for 30 hours over the weekend.
There were reports of two feet of snow falling near Paw Paw, Saranac and Ada.
Meanwhile, Grand Rapids picked up 24.4 inches of snow, Caledonia received 27 inches and East Grand Rapids reported an incredible 30.8 inches.
The dig out began on Monday. Warmer temperatures will help the snowpack settle and begin to melt.
