COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) -Branch County Commissioners voted during their work session on Thursday to bring forward to next weeks meeting a request from County Administrator Bud Norman to begin the process of getting Requests for Proposals for a new animal shelter next to the Branch County Jail.
He said the millage that was voted down last month included an option of putting the shelter at that location. It would also allow animal control to possibly use prisoners in help with the care of the animals.
Norman said if everything falls into place, construction would begin around November 1, 2016. A fire in May 2015 forced the closing of the Animal Control Shelter south of Quincy.
