COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Downtown Development Authority Board will be asked to approve a number of improvements to the downtown area when they meet next Wednesday morning.
Coldwater Community Services Director and Assistant City Manager Keith Baker says in a memo to board members that the city and the D.D.A. have been asked to provide additional seating and refuse containers downtown.
In addition, Baker says the city is interested in repairing the 69 decorative lamp posts downtown in order to improve their appearance, maintenance and long term usable life.
The city is also interested in adding banners in front of the Tibbits Opera House and within the new parking lot to highlight Tibbits and create a festive atmosphere. The total costs would be just under $16,000.
Meanwhile, the city is proposing a major asphalt maintenance project in the Randall parking lot and some minor repairs to the Milnes parking lot as a temporary measure until the proposed Centre Pointe Apartments project is approved. That work along with striping the Chandler parking lot would cost $36,000.
