ADRIAN, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s Lady Cardinal Golf team traveled to the Lenewee Country Club to participate in the Maple Invitational and came away with a 2nd place finish out of six schools. Coldwater shot a team score of 419 which was three strokes behind Adrian which won the event.
Leading the way for Coldwater was Claire Sheppard, who took 4th place overall with a score of 97. Hunter Jenkot shot a 101, Jayla Goodwin carded a 108, Micki Slack had a 113 and Molly Smith rounded out the scoring with a 117.
Coldwater’s varsity will play in their first Jamboree on Thursday when they travel to Arbor Hills for an event hosted by Parma Western.
Coldwater’s JV golf team was in Marshall Monday for a Jamboree and once again came away with a win over Marshall and Lakeview. Leading the way for Coldwater was Elloree Madden with a 55, Abby Coffing had a 56, Ryleigh Collins shot a 58, Jena Beckhusen had a 60, Sabrina VanAuker shot a 62, Melissa Vozar carded a 67 and Mackenzie Koch rounded out Coldwater’s scoring with a 68.
Coldwater’s team score of 229 beat Marshall by 5 strokes to secure the victory. Coldwater will be hosting a JV event this Wednesday at the Coldwater Golf Course.
