BRONSON, MI (WTVB) – The discovery of a body in Cary Lake on Monday is being treated as a criminal investigation by the Branch County Sheriff’s Department.
Undersheriff Keith Eichler says a man came into the Sheriff’s Department just before 9:00 a.m. Monday morning to report a property damage accident at the public access site on the north side of the lake.
The body of a man about 40 years old was later found in a vehicle which was submerged in three feet water.
The Sheriff’s Department Dive Team along with the Branch County Medical Examiner were called in.
Yellow crime tape was stretched across the entrance to the access site just after 1:00 p.m.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unknown as of mid afternoon on Monday.
