COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater High School is now part of a growing trend: not enough players to field a freshman football team. At least two other schools in the Interstate 8 Conference, Jackson Lumen Christi and Jackson Northwest, have joined Coldwater in combining their freshman and junior varsity teams into one squad.
The only underclassman game this Thursday night at Cardinal Field will be the junior varsity game between Jackson High and Coldwater. The kickoff has been pushed back a half hour to 6:00 p.m. since there is only one game.
The Coldwater varsity football team plays at Jackson High’s Withington Stadium Friday at 7:00 p.m. Live coverage on AM 1590 and FM 95.5 WTVB begins at 6:30 p.m.
