FREMONT, IN (WTVB) – A suspicious bag left unattended just before midnight on Monday night forced the evacuation of the Pilot Truck Stop just south of the Michigan-Indiana state line.
The Steuben County Sheriff’s Department says the bag was found at about 11:40 p.m.
The building and parking lot were evacuated for standard safety procedures.
The business was closed for about an hour-and-a-half while an investigation was conducted.
It was later determined after it was inspected that the bag contained clothing items and there was nothing suspicious inside.
