COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County is included in a Flash Flood Watch that was issued Monday morning by the National Weather Service. The Flash Flood Watch is in effect from 2:00 p.m. Monday through Tuesday morning.
Forecasters are expecting nearly two inches of rain for the Coldwater area but they say final rainfall totals will be highly variable from location to location.
They say a series of disturbances will move along a frontal boundary across the area over the next couple of days bringing rain to the region.
Heavy rain of two to four inches is expected throughout southwest Michigan and northern Indiana.
Rapid runoff may cause low lying areas to quickly flood in addition to possible flash flooding of small rivers and creeks. Significant rises on larger rivers is possible.
